Astrophysicist Takes on World's Deadliest Bug Play

April 11 (Bloomberg) –- Szabolcs Marka is an astrophysicist at Columbia University. But he no longer studies black holes and dark matter -- these days he runs a mosquito farm. With a million dollars in funding from the Gates Foundation, he is developing a new kind of mosquito net using solar energy and infrared light. He hopes that one day this "space age" technology could help eradicate malaria altogether. Bloomberg's Willem Marx explains. (Includes footage from upcoming documentary "Mosquito.")
