ASIC's Medcraft on Auditing, High-Frequency Trading Play

Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Greg Medcraft, chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the chairman-elect of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, talks about the state of corporate auditing in Australia and the need for a global standard for high-frequency trading. The ASIC this week released a findings from its inspections of 20 Australian audit firms undertaken in the 18 months to 30 June 2012, and said the commission is "disappointed" that there has not been an improvement in audit quality. Medcraft speaks from Sydney with Rishaad Salamat on Bloomberg Television's "On the Move Asia." (Source: Bloomberg)
