Nov. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Former Bank of England policy maker David Blanchflower, who is now an economics professor at Dartmouth College and a Bloomberg Television contributing editor, talks about Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney's appointment as the next head of the British central bank.
Carney, a 47-year-old former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. managing director, will become the first foreigner to run the 318-year-old institution as it absorbs new powers to oversee banks. He’ll replace Mervyn King, 64, in July. Blanchflower speaks with Susan Li on Bloomberg Television's "First Up." (Source: Bloomberg)
