A Great Read

Amey Stone

It's not often that I make it all the way through a newspaper article that takes up two full broadsheet pages (not that there are that many of them to begin with). But I just finished an excerpt in Sunday's New York Times of Kurt Eichenwald's new book about the final days of Enron, Conspiracy of Fools: A True Story (registration required). It's boardroom drama at its best and sheds new light on the company's jaw-dropping implosion.

Most books about corporate scandals that have been published in the past two years haven't been big sellers. My guess is that this book may change that record. Installment two of the excerpt will be in next Sunday's business section and I'm looking forward to reading more.
