Like most Americans, I have to deal with sky-high gas prices this summer. But I’ve found a few Web sites that are really helpful for finding the cheapest gas around. My favorites: can tell you gas prices across the country, which is useful if you are planning a road trip. If you feel like getting depressed, the site can also provide you with historical prices. offers tips on improving your mileage. And there are lots of helpful state- and city-specific sites, such as and, listing the cheapest gas stations around town. Please feel free to add to this list, we could all use a gas price break!

Switching for a hybrid vehicle would really help although right now, there's not much choice. About a year ago, a salesperson at my Honda dealership told me that the Japanese car maker was working on a diesel / electric hybrid SUV for the European market.

I'd sure like to get my hands on that kind of technology...
