Get Ready for Spag

Heard at the Emerging Technology conference, the possible birth of a new word: Spag. That would be what folks at a meeting on tagging think will happen before long: Spammers will latch onto the emerging practice of tagging descriptive words onto Web site links, photos, songs, and other stuff on the Web. That’s in addition to spit and spim, spam over Internet telephony and instant messaging. Spag, spit, spim, spam—it’s all the same, and odious no matter what the name.
