WellcomeMat Is a Website, Not A Typo

Posted by: Peter Coy on July 26, 2006

Roll out the welcome mat for, a new home-listings website that’s trying to kick-start business by offering the first 1,000 listings for free. (After that it will be 75 cents a day.) The site’s gimmick is video—every listing has a video clip of the property, supplied by the lister. You can link to the video from an ad on another site.

As the leasing agent for Boutique Apartments I have to say that having Wellcome Mat as a tool is invaluable. It will surely change the way people find apartments/homes.
The video work is amazing, and Christian is a great guy to work with. With several new properties opening up this fall, I am definitely excited about using this service more.

July 29, 2006 1:32 PM is cool! I entered my video about my new PA~RAW~DISE 100% Raw Organic Cuisine Restaurant 587 Post Street @ Taylor on Union Square in San Francisco, so if you go to you can see my video! I think it can expand to Restaurants as well as Real Estate, a sort of virtual tour guide. My restaurant is 100% ORGANIC and very GREEN and Environmental I used new Palm Tree/Coconut Flooring that no one else has in a business, and I designed a new Solar Powered Awning that is the ONLY one in all of San Francisco, I also use recycled glassware and biodegradable to go containers, the food is AMAZING and SUPER DELICIOUS the best on the Planet, please go to the website for all the wonderful photos and info:

BusinessWeek editors Chris Palmeri, Prashant Gopal and Peter Coy chronicle the highs and lows of the housing and mortgage markets on their Hot Property blog. In print and online, the Hot Property team first wrote about the potential downside of lenders pushing riskier, "option ARM" mortgages and the rise in mortgage fraud back in 2005—well ahead of many other media outlets. In 2008, Hot Property bloggers finished #1 in a ranking of the world's top 100 "most powerful property people" by the British real estate website Global edge. Hot Property was named among the 25 most influential real estate blogs of 2007 by Inman News.
