Dunkin Donuts: Name Your Donut

Posted by: David Kiley on March 18, 2009

Dunkin’ Donuts is going back to its roots and “thinking inside the box,” launching a national campaign aimed at shining the spotlight on donuts as the perfect treat for these challenging times. As part of this effort, today the company launched its first-ever “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” online contest. Americans can visit through April 7 to create their own original donut for the chance to win a $12,000 grand prize, and have their tasty treat sold in Dunkin’ stores throughout the country.

Beginning today, participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations nationwide will offer a donut for 49 cents, with the purchase of any medium or larger hot coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts also introduced two new donut flavors, “Berries n’ Kreme” and “Dunkin’ Delight.”

My choice would be “Joltin Joe’s Dinky,” a plain donut with vanilla icing and black pinstripes, and a number 5, to pay homage to the “Dinky Donuts” episode of Seinfeld.
