Steve Jobs Heart Attack Rumor Not True

Someone with a sick sense of humor posted a story on CNN’s iReport section saying Steve Jobs had suffered a heart attack this morning. I just got off the phone with Apple PR who says it’s not true.

Here’s an image showing the brief gyration of Apple’s stock price this morning as the rumor first began to circulate. For a few minutes the stock was down more than five dollars and dipped below the $100 mark for the first time since May 1, 2007.

Henry Blodget at Silicon Alley Insider is suggesting this could lead to an SEC investigation. CNN has since deleted the report on the iReport site.
