First came Dollywood, the theme park built by Dolly Parton. Then Martha Stewart began designing houses for KB Home. What's next? Brookwood.
Ronnie Gilley Properties, a developer and no relation to the famed Gilley's honky tonk, is opening a subdivision in Enterprise, Alabamba that's named after country star Kix Brooks (right) of the Brooks and Dunn duo. It's actually not the first time Gilley has turned to country singers for endorsements. George Jones is a spokesperson for the Legends development nearby. Alan Jackson is also an official spokesperson for La Borgata, a complex in Panama City, Florida.
Tracy Lawrence, meanwhile, is an investor in Mayberry Place also in Enterprise, a fast-growing community ninety miles south of Montgomery. The Brookwood homes start at $175,000. Kix will be there to kick sales off on February 16.
