More money for stem cell research--and jobs

In the midst of a state financial crisis, Governor Jon Corzine of New Jersey just signed a bill giving $270 million for stem cell research in the state. The funds, according to the NYT, could "generate about $1 billion in economic activity and create thousands of jobs, according to a recent study from Rutgers University."

Certainly, optimism reigns our world.

Research on stem cell and further manupilation of genetics will in the end generate progress. Don?t count on it in the near future. 5 a. Politics just seem to use it as an hot source of profilation.
