How Apple could mess up again: a special report

Stephen Baker

Here's a BW Online special report on how Apple could fall. I can't imagine that Apple, for all its genius, will be able to dominate mobile music (and to a lesser degree, entertainment)the way it does today.

That said, my old suffering screen-shattered iPod finally died a couple of weeks ago, and I just bought a new video iPod. This convinced me that video is seriously going mobile--and that we should hurry up and develop good v-podcasts for this site.

Sorry I've been posting so little. I have a big project that I hope to get into the magazine this week. More about that later. (Yes, on that side of the biz, we're still as secretive as ever.)

iBox, Apple gaming console for 2006?

With a portable device and a console, Apple

could get in the game game. That's where the money is. Some of it at least.

Read the article yesterday. Can't say I agree with the analyst. Don't really think the pc business and what happened there relates at all to the iPod and what's happening now.

But, everyone has an opinion ;-)

More on ibox.

It's a flat pizzabox Mac clone. This could make a nice gaming machine if it runs a bit hot. You could set your pizza on top to keep it warm. Perfect for a gaming party.
