Treasuries Jump on Hope for Tenth Rate Cut

Treasuries finished higher on hopes that Federal Reserve policymakers will cut interest rates for a tenth time this year. The short end of the Treasury curve benefited from a "safe haven" bid as the Argentine default concerns sent the broader emerging markets sharply lower, according to Standard & Poor's MMS.

More economic data released this weak could reveal signs of a prolonged recession and job losses, which also could strengthen Treasuries.
