3DO IS BACK IN THE GAME

IF LIFE WERE A VIDEO GAME, 3DO would be the plucky hero, constantly averting destruction. On Oct. 25, the struggling software company won another lease on life, getting a $100 million cash infusion from Japan's Matsushita Electric Industrial. Matsushita will get an exclusive license to use 3DO's next-generation game technology, called M2, in consumer game players, interactive TV, and set-top boxes. 3DO, which had just $20 million in cash as of June 30, gains a heap of credibility.
