Washington Outlook: CAPITAL WRAPUP
AND WHAT DO YOU DO?
Everyone knows what Steven Spielberg does--except, apparently, President Clinton's reelection committee. The Hollywood mogul is among many well-known Presidential donors whose occupations are missing from a list of 1995 contributors. Federal law requires campaigns to make a "best effort" to describe donors' jobs, but that information was excluded for such benefactors as Edgar Bronfman Jr., president of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons Inc.; lobbyist Roy M. Neel, Clinton's former deputy chief of staff; and Swanee G. Hunt, ambassador to Austria. After the Federal Election Commission griped, the Clintonites promised to ask donors for more data.EDITED BY OWEN ULLMANN
