Banks and other creditors pushing bankruptcy reform may have to reorganize themselves. Bankruptcy law changes have been stalled by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jack Brooks (D-Tex.), who is preoccupied with health-care reform and a crime bill. The Senate has passed a measure curbing abuses of the system--such as endless extensions for companies to reorganize. But unless bank lobbyists regroup, the bill may die in the House.EDITED BY OWEN ULLMANN
