THIN ICE FOR BRUCE McNALL?

Bruce McNall, the coin dealer who brought ice hockey superstar Wayne Gretzky to Los Angeles, is heading to the penalty box. Under federal grand jury investigation for possibly falsifying loan documents, McNall last month resigned as head of the National Hockey League's board of governors. On May 2, scrambling to pay down crushing bank debt and salvage his real estate and sports empire, he sold a 72% interest in his Los Angeles Kings to Jeffrey Sudikoff, chairman of long-distance carrier IDB Communications Group, and Joseph Cohen, a former executive at Madison Square Garden.EDITED BY KEITH H.
