Investment Figures of the Week

A worrisome week in the global financial markets. Inflation fears sent European

bourses tumbling on Mar. 1, with London, Paris, and Frankfurt hit the hardest.

In the U.S., word of higher than expected economic growth sent bond prices

falling. The yield of benchmark 30-year Treasury notes climbed to 6.8%. U.S.

stocks were similarly hurt, though the market recovered on Mar. 2. One ray of

hope is the put-call ratio indicator of investor sentiment, which is at its

most bullish level in three years.
