Barbie and Bratz: Back in Court

Posted by: Stacy Perman on August 21

Jury deliberations are on tap to start today over whether MGA Entertainment, the maker of the pouty-lipped line of Bratz dolls should pay damages to Mattel, the maker of Barbie. Last month, a jury found that Carter Bryant, a former Barbie designer had created Bratz while still under contract with Mattel.

According to a court filing, reported by Reuters, MGA claimed its business would be “ruined immediately” should the jury award damages “anywhere approaching the amounts sought by Mattel.”
