ConAgra to expand plant, add jobs

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — ConAgra Foods Inc. said Monday that it is expanding its plant in Russellville, Ark., and will add more than 80 jobs.

The food maker has operated in the Russellville area since 1965 and has approximately 1,350 employees there.

ConAgra said it is investing $100 million to expand the plant to make Bertolli and P.F. Chang's frozen meals. The company acquired these brands earlier this year as it tries to expand its business in the frozen food aisles.

The company, based in Omaha, Neb., makes products such as Slim Jim snacks and Peter Pan peanut butter.

ConAgra's shares increased 2 cents to close at $27.53 and were unchanged in after-hours trading.
