PSNH completes restoration of power

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Public Service of New Hampshire officials say power has now been restored to all 137,000 customers affected by Superstorm Sandy.

They say by midnight Thursday, only a handful of isolated areas were still without power.

The state's largest utility, a unit of Northeast Utilities, brought in 80 crews from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Missouri to help with the work.

PSNH officials say restoration efforts got a critical boost Wednesday with the arrival of 75 crews from Canada's Hydro Quebec.

Sandy caused the fourth highest number of outages in PSNH's 86-year history.

With power fully restored in New Hampshire, PSNH sent 42 crews to Connecticut Friday to aid restoration efforts in that state — where 200,000 customers are still without power.
