JPMorgan Names Energy Banker Castaldo Managing Director (1)

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM:US) has hired Andrew Castaldo from Bank of America Corp. (BAC:US) to help advise on oil and gas deals, according to a memo obtained by Bloomberg News.

Castaldo will be based in New York report to Hernan Cristerna and Christopher Ventresca, JPMorgan’s global co-heads of mergers and acquisitions, the document shows. The contents of the memo were confirmed by the bank’s New York-based spokeswoman Tasha Pelio.

Castaldo, who worked at Citigroup Inc. before joining Bank of America in 2006, helped advise Apache Corp. on its $7 billion purchase of assets from BP Plc in 2010. He also worked on Regency Energy Partners LP’s $5.6 billion acquisition of PVR Partners LP, a natural gas pipeline and processing company, which was announced this month.

Ventresca and Cristerna were named co-heads of global mergers and in May amid an overhaul of the top management of the team. Ventresca previously was JPMorgan’s head of North American M&A, while Cristerna oversaw M&A for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
