Wu Kaifeng, secretary-general of Wenzhou in eastern China’s Zhejiang province, was removed from his post after an alleged extramarital affair was exposed online, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
Wu, a member of the Standing Committee of Wenzhou’s municipal Communist Party party committee, was punished for violating party discipline, Xinhua said, citing the city’s discipline department. The government will continue to investigate, according to the report.
