Swiss producer and import prices advanced for a fourth month in December, led by higher domestic costs.
Prices of products ranging from factory to farm goods as well as imports increased 1 percent from a year earlier after climbing an annual 1.2 percent in November, the Federal Statistics Office in Neuchatel, Switzerland, said today. Economists forecast a gain of 0.9 percent, the median of six estimates in a Bloomberg News survey showed. Prices rose 0.1 percent in the month.
Import costs were unchanged in the month and increased 0.1 percent from a year earlier, today’s report showed. Producer prices advanced 0.1 percent in the month and climbed 1.3 percent in the year.
