Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said he will run for re-election as head of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan.
The DPJ meets on Sept. 21 to decide whether to keep Noda as party standard bearer.
“I cannot leave these problems the country faces in an unfinished state,” Noda said at a press conference today in Tokyo. “I want to continue with my duties.”
