South Africa added two uncapped players, Duane Vermeulen and Johan Goosen, to the squad travelling to Australia and New Zealand for rugby’s southern hemisphere championship.
Vermeulen, a Western Province No. 8, and Goosen, a flyhalf from the Free State Cheetahs, will join the 28-member squad for the Sept. 8 Test against Australia in Perth and the Sept. 15 match against New Zealand in Dunedin, according to a statement from South Africa Rugby Union today.
Western Province midfielder Juan de Jongh and Bath loose forward Francois Louw, who has captained his English club, were recalled to the squad.
South Africa is second in the standings after beating Argentina in Cape Town and then drawing 16-16 with the Pumas in Mendoza.
