Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government would have supported the introduction of so-called euro bonds earlier if it hadn’t been for the Free Democratic Party’s refusal to back such a move, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, a former FDP chairman, told Germany’s Focus magazine.
