Bank of England Governor Mervyn King declined to comment on his role in the resignation of Robert Diamond as chief executive officer of Barclays Plc. (BARC)
“I’m not going to comment on individuals,” he said in an interview broadcast on BBC Radio 4 today. “One of the roles of the governor is to have conversations that remain private.”
King was questioned in Wolverhampton yesterday as his deputy Paul Tucker was testifying to Parliament’s Treasury Committee on the Libor scandal.
