Mexico Stocks: Pochteca, Bio Pappel, Sare, Televisa Are Active

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico City trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 9:40 a.m. local time.

The IPC index was little changed at 39,864.21.

Grupo Pochteca SAB (POCHTECB) fell 0.6 percent to 3.15 pesos after jumping as much as 7.3 percent to 3.4 pesos earlier today. Antonio del Valle, who invested in a 300 million peso ($22.3 million) capital increase for Pochteca in April, said in a June 21 telephone interview that the company would pursue acquisition-driven growth.

Bio Pappel SAB (PAPPEL*) , a Mexican paper maker trading on the IRT Small Capitalization Index, rose 2.7 percent to 8.02 pesos after jumping as much as 4.6 percent earlier today. A member of its control group acquired 23 million shares in the second quarter, according to a statement last week to the Mexican bourse.

Sare Holding SAB (SAREB) , the worst performing Mexican homebuilder over the past four years, fell 4 percent to 1.42 pesos as Beamonte Investments Inc. said it’s re-evaluating its intention to make a bid for the company after Sare’s share price surged 26 percent in the past two weeks.

Grupo Televisa SAB (TLEVICPO) , the world’s largest Spanish-language broadcaster, fell 0.8 percent to 57.20 pesos. The company had its recommendation cut to hold from buy at Corp. Actinver by analyst Martin Lara, according to an e-mailed research note.
