Algeria’s Sonatrach plans to increase its oil refining capacity by 18 percent, the company’s chief executive officer told the government daily El Moudjahid.
Capacity will rise by 4 million metric tons to 26 million tons a year or 440,000 barrels a day, CEO Abdelhamid Zerguine was cited as saying in the newspaper.
Work on the Skikda refinery is to be completed in August and the Algiers plant will be finished next year, according to the report.
