Korea East-West Power Seeks to Buy Coal for Five Years From July

Korea East-West Power Co., a generating unit of Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEP:US), is seeking to buy coal for loading starting July, according to a notice on its website.

Details of the company’s planned purchases are as follows:

Product:      Coal with a minimum net calorific value of 4,600
              kilocalories per kilogram
Quantity:     325,000 metric tons
Loading:      July
Bids close:   May 23, 11 a.m. local time
----------------------------------------------------------------
Product:      Coal with a minimum net calorific value of 4,600
              kilocalories per kilogram
Quantity:     520,000 tons annually for five years
Loading:      August 2012 to July 2013 (in first year)
Bids close:   May 23, 11 a.m. local time
