Kevin Davies Signs One-Year Contract to Stay at Relegated Bolton

Bolton captain Kevin Davies signed a one-year contract to remain with the club after it was relegated from the Premier League.

Davies, 35, agreed to a ninth season as Bolton prepares for the second-tier Championship, while defender Sam Rickets signed a two-year contract until 2014, the team said on its website.

Midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has activated a release clause in his contract and Gretar Steinsson, Paul Robinson, Sean Davis, Robbie Blake, Ricardo Gardner, Ivan Klasnic, Mark Connolly, Tope Ogadeyi, Rhys Bennett, Dino Fazlic and Tom Eckersley were released after their deals expired, the club said.
