Hungary Stocks: FHB, Magyar Telekom Move in Budapest Trading

The benchmark BUX (BUX) index rose 1.2 percent to 16,479.22 by the close in Budapest, snapping five days of declines.

The following are among the most active shares in the Hungarian market today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Foldhitel es Jelzalogbank Nyrt. (FHB HB), a Hungarian mortgage lender, declined 1.6 percent to 504 forint. Hungary’s planned bank transaction tax may lead to the country losing half of its bank deposits within weeks, Mihaly Patai, president of the Bank Association, told HVG.hu in an interview.

Magyar Telekom Nyrt. (MTELEKOM HB), the Hungarian unit of Deutsche Telekom AG, fell 0.5 percent to 428 forint, the lowest on record. The company said it expects to pay about 10 billion forint ($43 million) this year in a phone tax approved by parliament today and to be levied from July.
