Empresa Distribuidora & Comercializadora Norte SA (EDN AF) gained 0.5 percent to 0.6 peso. Argentina’s largest power distributor is advancing after newspaper El Cronista reported that the Argentine government may subsidize electricity companies or allow them to raise prices.
Cia de Transporte de Energia Electrica en Alta Tension Transener SA (TRAN AF), the operator of Argentina’s national power grid, climbed 1.3 percent to 0.6 peso.
YPF SA (YPFD AF), Argentina’s biggest energy company, fell 1.3 percent to 77.1 pesos before the country’s lower house votes today on a government bill to expropriate 51 percent of the company from Spain’s Repsol YPF SA. (YPFD)
