The following companies had unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the close of trading in Buenos Aires.
The Merval (MERVAL) Index climbed less than 0.1 percent to 2,271.86.
Petrobras Argentina SA (PESA AF), the local unit of Brazil’s state-controlled oil company, Petroleo Brasileiro SA, dropped 1 percent to 6 pesos. Oil fell as much 0.8 percent after a report showed the U.S. economy expanded less than forecast in the first quarter.
Telecom Argentina SA (TECO2 AF) rose 1.6 percent to 16.15 pesos. Shareholders of Argentina’s largest telecommunications company agreed to distribute 807 million pesos ($182.8 million) in dividends, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
YPF SA (YPFD) rose 0.9 percent to 76 pesos. Argentina’s Senate approved yesterday President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner’s proposal to seize control of the country’s biggest energy company.
