Colombia Stocks: Helm Bank and Pacific Rubiales Were Active

The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Colombia.

The IGBC Index (IGBC) fell 0.3 percent to 15,073.02 while the Colcap Index (COLCAP) dropped 0.4 percent to 1,748.70.

Helm Bank SA (PFBHELM) (PFBHELMB CB), a Colombian lender, rose 3.7 percent to 539 pesos. The Bogota-based bank’s shares have surged 46 percent this month on speculation it will be acquired. Helm Corp., the controlling shareholder, said April 10 that it hired an investment bank to “advise in the analysis of business alternatives for its investment.”

Pacific Rubiales SA (PRE) fell 1 percent to 50,900 pesos. The Toronto-based oil producer that operates fields in Colombia dropped in line with the price of crude.
