U.K. Starts $1.6 Billion Competition for Carbon Capture Funding

The U.K. government said it started a competition for 1 billion pounds ($1.6 billion) of funds it’s offering for the support of carbon capture and storage plants, part of an effort to make the technology commercially viable.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change made a statement about the program via e-mail in London today.
