Hungary’s benchmark BUX stock index rose 0.1 percent to 18,635.67 as of the close in Budapest. The gauge has advanced 9.8 percent this year.

E-Star Alternativ Nyrt. (ESTAR) (ESTAR HB), a Hungarian energy company, fell to the lowest in more than 2 1/2 years after posting a net loss for 2011. The shares dropped as much as 11 percent and last traded 3.6 percent lower at 2,940 forint, a 32 percent decline in the first three months of 2012 after a 37 percent drop in the last quarter of 2011.
OTP Bank Nyrt. (OTP) , Hungary’s largest lender, fell 0.6 percent to 3,829 forint after rising as much as 1 percent as European finance ministers increased rescue funds. The stock jumped 19 percent this quarter.
