Azerbaijan resumed natural-gas supplies to Russia on March 24, Nizamaddin Quliyev, a spokesman for the State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan, said today by phone, without providing further details.
Socar, as the state company is known, halted flows because of repair work on export pipelines, Quliyev said on March 13.
OAO Gazprom, Russia’s natural-gas export monopoly and the world’s biggest producer, said in January that it had signed an agreement with Socar, as the Azeri state company is known, to double purchases to 3 billion cubic meters this year, with volumes exceeding that amount next year.
