ITALY DAYBOOK: Monte Paschi, Generali, Impregilo, Telecom Shares

Fondazione Monte dei Paschi, which is selling as much as 15.5 percent stake in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA to cut debt, said it accepted an offer from the Aleotti family for a 4 percent stake in the bank. The foundation has so far sold 8.2 percent stock at an average price of 0.376 euros per share.

EQUITIES: -- Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G) : The board of Italy’s biggest insurer proposed investors confirm Gabriele Galateri, 65, as chairman at a shareholders meeting scheduled for April 28, according to a report on its website. -- Telecom Italia SpA (TIT) : Telecom Argentina SA, a unit controlled by Italy’s biggest phone company, won’t distribute dividends based on 2011 profit, newspaper Pagina/12 reported March 23.

MARKETS: -- The benchmark FTSE MIB Index rose 0.2 percent to 16,485.24. -- The yield spread between Italian 10-year bonds and German bunds narrowed 1 basis points to 318 basis points.
