Second-seeded Ohio State University eliminated No. 1 seed Syracuse University 77-70 in the East Region’s final of the national men’s college basketball championship.
Jared Sullinger had 19 points for Ohio State and Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 18 points at TD Garden in Boston.
Syracuse’s loss leaves top seeds Kentucky and Kansas in the competition.
The Buckeyes advance to the semifinals of the National Collegiate Athletic Association championship on March 31 where they will play North Carolina or Kansas.
