G-20 Says Europe Firewall Assessment ‘Essential’ for IMF Funds

Feb. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Group of 20 nations meeting in Mexico City said that consideration of more funding for the International Monetary Fund depends on Europe reassessing its financial backstop against the region’s debt crisis.

Euro-area governments will look again at their firewall next month and that assessment is “essential” to any G-20 support for the IMF, finance ministers and central bank governors said in a statement today issued in Mexico City.
