ARGENTINA DAYBOOK: Statistics Agency Releases January’s CPI

Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Argentina’s statistics agency will release January’s consumer price index at 4 p.m. local time.
The institute will report a 0.8 percent increase from December, according to the median estimate of seven economists surveyed by Bloomberg.
WHAT TO WATCH:
* BBVA Banco Frances SA, Alto Palermo SA, Cresud Sacifya. and Quickfood SA are among companies that are scheduled to release their fourth-quarter earnings reports during the day.
ECONOMY/COMMODITIES:
* The Agricultural Ministry releases its weekly crop report this afternoon.
EQUITIES:
* The Merval Index rose 1 percent to 2,749 yesterday, led by Tenaris SA, which rose 2.7 percent 94.4 pesos.
MARKETS:
* The peso was little changed yesterday at 4.3447 per dollar. The currency has declined 1 percent against the dollar this year.
