Assad Tells Russia He’s Committed to Ending Violence in Syria

Feb. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is committed to ending all violence in his country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks in Damascus today, according to a pool report from Russian news service Itar-Tass.
Russia’s position is to use a plan put forward by the Arab League to end the bloodshed in Syria, Lavrov said.
