Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Telecel Zimbabwe, a unit of Orascom Telecom Holdings SAE, plans to boost subscribers by 56 percent to 2.5 million this year, Managing Director John Swain said.
Orascom Telecom may invest $70 million to rebrand the company and set up 300 base stations across the southern African nation, Swain told reporters today in Harare, the capital.
Telecel is Zimbabwe’s second-biggest mobile-phone operator.
