Santander’s Amado Will Be Invited to Head BCP, Negocios Reports

Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Nuno Amado, chief executive officer at the Portuguese unit of Banco Santander SA, will be invited to replace Carlos Santos Ferreira as CEO of Banco Comercial Portugues SA, Jornal de Negocios said on its website, citing unidentified people close to Banco Comercial shareholders.

A spokeswoman for the Santander Totta unit in Lisbon declined to comment.

Erik Burns, a spokesman at Banco Comercial, earlier declined to comment on a Diario Economico report saying that the bank would name a new CEO at a shareholder meeting on Feb. 28.
