Argentine Stocks: Petroleo Brasileiro Rises; Metrogas Falls

Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies are having unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 3:50 p.m. in Buenos Aires.

The Merval Index fell 0.4 percent to 2,829.90.

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (APBR AF) gained 2.6 percent to 66.6 pesos. Empresa Nacional del Petroleo signed a fuel supply agreement with Petrobras through December 2012, Chile’s state- owned company said in an e-mailed statement today.

Metrogas SA (METR AF) fell 8 percent to 80 centavos. The Argentine natural gas distribution company declined after the company said in a filing to regulators that Director Michael George Morgan resigned yesterday.
