Jan. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Berge Everest, one of the world’s largest iron ore ships, signaled it is sailing to Singapore after calling Dalian in China, according to a signal from the vessel today.
The ship is operated for Vale SA, the iron ore producer spending at least $8.1 billion on such vessels to cut its long- term freight costs. The carrier’s draft is 14.4 meters compared with 21.3 when it arrived at the Chinese port, indicating it unloaded.
