UNITE Says May Picket or Strike Allied Irish in Pay Dispute

December 13, 2011

Dec. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Labor Union, UNITE, said it may picket or take strike action at branches of Allied Irish Banks Plc unless a pay issue for staff at a unit is resolved.

Unless a dispute about a Christmas payment to staff at EBS Ltd. is resolved by Jan. 11, strike and picket action may spread to Allied Irish, the parent company of EBS, UNITE said in an e- mailed statement today.

UNITE workers plan to strike at EBS branches on Dec. 20, the union said.
