MTS, VimpelCom May Bid for Ukrainian 3G Company, Vedomosti Says

Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- OAO Mobile TeleSystems, Russia’s largest mobile-phone operator, may jointly bid with VimpelCom Ltd. for a third-generation mobile service company in Ukraine, Vedomosti newspaper reported, citing an unidentified person close to a Ukrainian cell-phone company.

MTS and VimpelCom’s Ukrainian unit ZAT Kyivstar GSM are considering a joint offer for a VAT Ukrtelecom subsidiary that has a 3G license, the newspaper said, citing an unnamed person close to VimpelCom.
